MIDI Noodle ยท Visualizers
See what's playing.
Drop a visualizer on any cable to see the notes going through it: on a keyboard, on a staff, as the chord's name and number in the key, or on a piano roll.
Keyboard
A piano that lights the held notes, one colour per channel, so you can see which hand is playing which synth, or what a sequencer is sending.
Staff
The notes in music notation, on a Treble, Bass or Grand staff. Show only what's held now, or the last 1, 2 or 4 bars. With the transport running, Rhythm places notes on a 1/8 or 1/16 grid with ties and rests.
Chord
The chord being played, named and numbered in the key (Am and vi in C major), with a small keyboard showing its notes. Show the chord held now, or the chords of the last bar or two.
Labels can show names, numerals or both. Spelling follows the patch key or a key of the visualizer's own.
Piano Roll
The last 1, 2 or 4 bars as a piano roll: each note a bar in its channel's colour, scrolling left to a playhead at the right edge. While the transport plays, notes sit on its bars with bar lines; stopped, they scroll in real time at the patch tempo.
Rows of notes in the key are lighter, so a note outside it stands out. Show every channel or just one.
Changes nothing
Visualizers pass every message on unchanged, so you can drop one anywhere on a cable and take it away again without touching the sound.
Want a different view? Right-click the card and Replace Visualizer swaps it for another type, its cables kept.
